About Me

I live in Port Macquarie on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW, a far cry from my early childhood days growing up as a bare-footed school girl at a tiny country school west of Sydney. Having a love for art from an early age I went on to study Art and Design at the National Art School in Darlinghurst, Sydney, then moved on to work as a freelance graphic designer in Sydney, London, and Rhodesia.

Family life and business led me away from my art for many years and only in recent years have I returned to my real passion.
Life is a journey always moving forward, and he last few years has seen a move from my portraits to works on canvas. Living in Port Macquarie, surrounded by many beautiful unspoiled beaches and magnificent coastline, provides me with endless inspiration. My works aim to capture the light and sunshine of this beautiful magical area. You will often spot me wandering the  local beaches early in the morning camera in hand. My most recent works have a more contemporary style. With many of these works have you will see a new colour palette. My aim remains the same, to capture the light and magic of the moment.
I am a great supporter of the local Artists Market and you can regularly find me at the  markets in Port Macquarie, as well as the Artists  Markets in Gladstone, or if you are in the area you are most welcome to visit my home gallery and Studio.

Artist Statement

My purpose built studio overlooks my tranquil natural garden; a haven for birdlife. Magpies, butcherbirds and bowerbirds entertain me with their songs and my chickens wander by my studio door to say hello and check on my progress.
Painting has become my passion as well as my relaxation. My inspiration is fueled by this magical part of The Mid North Coast which has been my home for almost 40 years. I think I can now be classed as 'A Local'. I aim to capture that magic in my work with each piece providing it's own unique story and journey to share with my audience.
I work mainly in acrylics on large wrapped canvases. My Style has moved from quite traditional to more contemporary with my Graphic Design background ever present. A sense of order and balance easily identified in each piece.
From my mixed media portraits in the beginning...
to my most recent contemporary works.
the journey continues.
